For the third steakfest the door was opened for a new performer, Edward Palange III. Ed proceeded to garner the first ever rookie of the year honors by polishing off his steak in a very good time. However, the Willis Reed-esque performance by Christopher Nowell earned him his first MVP honors. On the way to the meeting place Chris injured himself badly on a pothole. Rather than going to the hospital or lying back like most performers, Chris rose up and overcame. After a quick stop at a major drug store, Chris proceeded to field dress his injury (which later turned out to be a bad sprain with tendon damage and required weeks of physical therapy) drink a good amount of scotch throughout the meal and succeed despite a great amount of pain.
